In the wild, reptiles will feed on a whole host of prey types from mammal to bird, fish to amphibians
and even other reptiles.
For many captive-bred species however, it is possible to convert them to feeding on a
more convenient prey even if their natural diet is very different.
At Ultimate Reptiles, we have more than 25
years experience of caring for and breeding reptiles, so we understand the best feeding regimes for all the reptile species
we sell to ensure the health and wellbeing of each animal.
We can advise on the best feed including live prey,
frequency of feeding as some species are night feeders and others feed during the day and other issues around your pet's
nutritional needs.
For examples, feeding frequency can change throughout the year, depending on breeding seasons
and other natural cycles in the reptile's place of origin, such as dry or wet seasons.
While it is commonly
assumed that reptiles, especially snakes, can only eat live prey, this is not necessarily true and most captive-bred reptiles
can be easily converted to feed on pre-killed prey.
As experienced herpetologists, we're always on hand to
offer you the best advice on feeding regimes and food types.
